The event saw the attendance of several notable figures including <strong class=\"font-semibold\">U Tin Oo<\/strong>, Patron of the National League for Democracy, and <strong class=\"font-semibold\">Daw Ei Shwe Sin Nyunt<\/strong>, advisor of the Labour Department of NLD. They were joined by U Toe Myint, Director of the Seafarer Division, Department of Marine Administration, Ministry of Transport, along with officers from MSESF and IFOMS members.\n <\/p>\n\n <p class=\"mb-6\">\n The seminar commenced with a warm welcome speech from U Tin Oo, setting a collaborative tone for the event. Following the opening, <strong class=\"font-semibold\">John Whitlow<\/strong>, Secretary of Seafarers, Fisheries & Inland Navigation, and Secretary to the Seafarers Group of the ILO Joint Maritime Commission, explained the core objectives of the MLC Seminar.\n <\/p>\n\n <blockquote class=\"border-l-4 border-blue-500 pl-6 py-2 my-8 text-gray-600 italic\">\n \"Promoting Myanmar Maritime industry and Myanmar Seafarers\u2019 Rights and a Secure Workplace.\"\n <cite class=\"block not-italic mt-2 text-right font-medium\">\u2014 U Zaw Aung, President of IFOMS<\/cite>\n <\/blockquote>\n\n <p class=\"mb-6\">\n The seminar featured several key discussions. <strong class=\"font-semibold\">Rossen Karavatche<\/strong> from the International Transport Workers\u2019 Federation (ITF) discussed \"Compliance & Enforcement Transposition into national law & Tripartite Approach.\" This was followed by a session on \"Compliance & Enforcement Tripartite Consultation\" led by <strong class=\"font-semibold\">Kam Soon Huat<\/strong>, General Secretary of the Singapore Organization of Seamen.\n <\/p>\n\n <p>\n Finally, <strong class=\"font-semibold\">Katie Higginbottom<\/strong> from the ITF presented on \"Recruitment & Placement.\" The seminar concluded with engaging discussion groups where attendees could share insights and formulate strategies.\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n
